Studio 1 - Collecting Content

To begin I started by interviewing two close friends, Nikki and Kayla. I used my phone to record our voices as we sat and talked. I kept the questions relatively casual and crude, as is the style of the magazine. When recording our conversation I attempted to use the convert audio to text feature, though it did not work well enough to be deemed beneficial. I quickly switched to the more traditional method of listening to the recording and converting what was said to written text. This process took longer than expected but also yielded a lot more content than I had anticipated.
This meant that fewer interviews were able to be conducted, which has positive and negative factors.
I also interviewed Brian and Lesley in the same method, learning from my mistakes in the first interview. The process was faster and more efficient than the previous attempt.
Throughout this time I was also collecting images off the interviewee’s. This included going through old photo albums and photographing old photos and arranging times to take photos of the interviewee’s and other relevant subjects.
