Brief

The magazine must convey a “Byron Then and Now” message. It will cover the history and lifestyle of Byron, incorporating culture (surfing, drinking, music, fashion, brands) and tourism.

Magazine that portrays the feel and style of the 1970’s in Byron Bay, while creating a comparison to the 20th century feel and style of the town. This should be expressed as a narrative progression through the magazine, incorporating relative images, colour schemes, graphic styles and content.

This should also be conveyed through individual profiling by conducting interviews.

The magazine should be considered light hearted, casual, “laid back” and relaxed to reflect the ideologies of the Byron Bay lifestyle.

Original archival images must be sought from local sources. Interviews with relevant sources need to be conducted in a laid back casual style that suits the feel of the magazine. The magazine may contain advertisements for local businesses.

The magazine must still maintain a sense of unity throughout, through the use of repetitive graphic elements.

The magazine must contain:

  • Masthead

  • 52 pages maximum (counting cover and inside of cover)
